I am pleased to announce the release of patched WebLogic Server and Fusion Middleware Infrastructure images in the Oracle Container Registry (OCR). These images contain WebLogic Server 12.2.1.3, 12.2.1.4, and 14.1.1.0 and FMW Infrastructure 12.2.1.3, and 12.2.1.4 binaries with Patch Set Updates (PSUs) and Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) already applied. These images will be re-created and published every CPU cycle at least on a quarterly basis.

The WebLogic Server images have a pre-installed Oracle Home created with WebLogic Server  generic and slim distributions, supported Oracle JDKs and Oracle Linux slim distributions, the WebLogic Server Oct 2021 PSU and other patches released with the Critical Patch Update (CPU) program.  The images posted on Dec 20, 2021 include a recently issued WebLogic Server patch for Apache Log4j.  For more information on this issue see the Oracle Security Alert Advisory – CVE-2021-44228.   Refer to Security Alert CVE-2021-44228 / CVE-2021-45046 Patch Availability Document for Oracle WebLogic Server & Fusion Middleware (Doc ID 2827793.1) for details.

The repository for these images can be found at Oracle Container Registry under middleware/weblogic_cpu .

The FMW Infrastructure (WebLogic Server with JRF) images have a pre-installed Oracle Home created with FMW Infrastructure distributions, supported Oracle JDKs and Oracle Linux slim distributions, the WebLogic Server Oct 2021 PSU and other fixes released with the Critical Patch Update (CPU) program, including the WebLogic Server patch for Apache Log4j referenced above. The repository for these images can be found at Oracle Container Registry under middleware/fmw-infastructure_cpu.

To pull the patched images, logon to OCR from your browser using your Oracle credentials (Oracle SSO credentials), navigate to the new middleware/weblogic_cpu or middleware/fmw-infastructure_cpu repositories, accept the license agreement and pull the patched images.

Steps:

· Log on to Oracle Container Registry from browser using Oracle credentials

· Navigate to middleware/weblogic_cpu or the fmw-infrastructure-cpu repositories

Accept license agreement. Note that the license acceptance expires after a month meaning that after the license expires you need to follow steps 1 through 3 before pulling the image from OCR. Read the complete article here.
